Welcome to 37 JiuJitsu

Our vision

Our vision here at 37 jiujitsu has and always will be to provide some of the safest, highest quality Brazilian Jiu jitsu coaching and training in the country to our members and visitors no matter what skill level, age or gender. Along with providing a lot of fun along the way!

It all began in the summer of 2021, after going through COVID and what felt like countless lockdowns, who is now head coach Conor decided enough is enough and decided to build his own gym to train in, in his parents garage. In this gym he decided to purchase a few jigsaw mats to do solo BJJ drills. Once the restrictions that were in place due to COVID started lifting, he began inviting a few of his friends over to train, then friends of friends and before he knew it he was accidentally running a small gym out of his mum and dads garage.

When trying to come up with a name, one of the earlier students Rory, who as of the time of writing this is currently a well accomplished competitive purple belt. Suggested calling the gym 37 jiujitsu, as the small garage gym at the times address number was 37. And the name has stuck since!

Since then we have moved to a more professional gym located on the deerpark road, Bellaghy. But our vision has remained the same since the start.

Adults program

If you are an adult wanting to begin training with us, whether your 18 or in your late 50’s we’ve got you covered. In our adults classes we have members at various ages, ethnicity, sizes, skill level, male and female. So no matter who you are and where you are in life, as long as you’re a decent person you’re welcome at 37 jiujitsu.

We believe Brazilian jiu jitsu is one of the best hobbies you can ever take up, as it holds countless benefits. The main ones worth mentioning the most are, physical and mental health benefits, confidence building, massively improved self defense ability, joining a community, camaraderie with new fellow team mates and having the option of competing in a new sport (if you ever wish to go down that path).

The next generation

At 37 jiujitsu we coach kids as well as adults. It is important to us that we provide the facilities for the next generation in the area to flourish in martial arts. With our kids programme, we put our main focus on discipline, fun, and growth. Building their confidence and sense of camaraderie with each other.

With our teen members, it is much the same although at this stage we begin putting a bigger focus than before on building solid technique. We currently do not have an exclusive teens class, however we let our teen members train in our main class along with the adults in their own different groups.

We believe one of the best things you can do for your child is teach them martial arts, especially jiu jitsu. As we have seen repeatedly in our own experience the drastic benefits it has on childrens confidence, physical and mental health, as well as well as helping them make new friends for life.
